The Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center provides many Human Resource Consultation services to local businesses.

Pre-Employment Skills Assessments
Test your applicants before hiring them! We provide skill assessment tests for measuring a wide variety of knowledge, skills and aptitudes. Features include a combination of performance-based and knowledge-based skill testing. You may have candidates tested at any time during your hiring process or you may want to use it to assess skill levels of current employees. Some of the skill assessments we offer are:

• Typing Speed and Accuracy
• Computer Software Competencies
• MS Office 2000-2003
• Operating Systems
• Data Entry
• Customer Service
• Clerical Skills
• Additional Office Skills
• Reading and Math

Job Application Pre-Screening
We will accept job applications and resumes on your behalf at our center and pre-screen the applications and/or the candidates to your specifications. You will only receive the information on the candidates that match your job requirements. We can also manage reference checks on the candidate before forwarding their information to you.

Job Matching
Using the Maryland Workforce Exchange System provides us with access to a large regional database of job seekers. Using this system and the large number of job seekers who use our center, we can appropriately match job seeker qualifications with your job description. Only qualified applicants will be forwarded for your interest.

Computer Tutorials and Training
You may need to upgrade the current computer software skills of current employees. We have computer tutorials which can be scheduled for use in our center. They are self-directed. Some of the tutorials we have available are:

Our experienced staff can work with you to analyze position duties and develop job descriptions for your business.
